Character Name: Blake Alias: Black Cat Gender: Male Blood Type: B Race: Human Type: Settlement human Age: 17 Birthday: Height: 5’5” Weight: 130 Birthplace: Syrasen Settlement Occupation: Would-be revolutionist, if he could ever get anything started (also, possible pet if anyone’s actually up for the task) Sexual Preference: bisexual, with a leaning towards other men
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
General Appearance: Hair: Blake’s hair is short for the most part, with longer uneven layers to it. The longest strands reach down to about his jawline. His hair is thick and has a little bit of curl to it, the colour: sin black. In certain lights, it might have a bluish sheen to it, but for the most part, his hair is pitch black.
Eyes: They would be wide and expressive, but because of a set frown or scowl he usually wears, his eyes are almost always narrowed. Pale green irises are hidden behind the messy black strands of hair.
Facial: His face is slim, tapering down into a pointed chin. Eyes are just slightly narrowed, with a long nose leading down to fairly full lips. Though he has small, faint scars on the rest of him, people were careful enough to mark up his face.
Skin: lightly tanned all over, with a few white scars marring otherwise flawless skin.
Body: The boy is lean, with a few toned muscles here and there, but he couldn’t be called muscular. ‘Fit’ is a better description. His shoulders taper down to a slim waistline and long, thin legs.
Clothing: Anything he can find that mostly fits. Mostly, whatever his older siblings had long grown out of.
Voice: Quiet, but in a brooding way, rather than being soft-spoken.
Physical Strengths: Some fighting. Just because he’s shorter than some of the other boys doesn’t mean he can’t hold his own against a fight, against another human that is. He doesn’t necessarily have any sort of fighting style; he just does whatever seems best at the time, whether that means giving someone a good kick, or throwing dirt in their face and running. No one ever said he had to fight fair… Weaknesses: Blake doesn’t have the muscle to put too much power behind his punches, and has to rely on speed rather than strength.
MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS
Current Goal/Purpose: Lead a fight against the vampires, even though he knows it’s a suicide mission. He can’t stand the thought of having to stay in the farms as a breeder, so fighting (and quite probably dying) seem like a better alternative. He’s unsure of the idea of becoming someone’s pet, so he simply makes it his goal to escape completely if at all possible.
Talents: Memorizing things; he can remember what someone said word-for-word, so long as it wasn’t some long-winded speech. It comes in handy, as he can’t write.
Inabilities: Some think he’s infertile, as he has mated with several women, but produced no offspring. Also, due to the restricted life he, and most other settlement humans live, he can’t read or write. This isn’t to say he’s stupid, of course. The world of books and letters are just beyond him; it all looks like scribbles anyway.
Habits: Biting his nails, messing with his hair
Fears: Staying in the settlement as a breeder for the rest of his life.
General Personality: Ambitious, too much for his own good, really. He has big ideas, dreams of the thrill of the fight. The problem is, most of his plans stay just as that; he plans but doesn’t really have enough leadership skills to lead a group of other boys into a fight. Blake is a bit quick-tempered, and can be hard to get along with, as he is a bit argumentative.
Inner Personality: Some could say he’s like a sullen, bratty child, that deep down only wants attention. Whether that is really the case or not, he at least isn’t always so sullen and bratty. Rather, he can be tolerable once someone takes the time to get to know him (this usually means they’d probably need to be very patient with his temper). He values his few close friends and, when the time comes to actually fight, he’d risk his own neck rather than let them get hurt. Blake does have a nicer, calmer side that only a few get to see.
-------------------------------------------
History: Blake himself doesn’t remember a day of it, but before his life in the settlement farm, his family had wandered around the habitable outskirts of the vampiric cities, living off the land and generally trying to stay well out of sight. The children’s parents, rogues, had wandered off one day in search of food for their young ones, and had never come back. The two older children believed they were caught and put in a farm, but didn’t mention this to Blake until he was much older. He drew his own conclusions anyway.
Blake was cared for by his older brother and sister, always creeping around silently and blending in with the scenery as best as they could. They rarely ever associated with the other groups of rouges in the area, only coming in contact when they desperately needed food or clothing. Too much contact with anyone outside their familial group could prove to be dangerous, and eventually was for the little family.
When Blake was about 4 years old, his siblings had tried to trade with what they had thought was a group of rogues, a rare mix of wandering humans and vampires. Rather, the ‘rogues’ were spies of sorts, ready to trap any foolish human and sell them off to one of the cities. Blake was sold off with his brother to the Syrasen Settlement, and their sister went somewhere else (neither ever found out where). The two boys stayed there, but only Blake remains now. His older brother was taken as a pet a few years ago, and at the time, Blake had thoroughly protested the move and had fought off the people who had tried to take his brother away. The faded scars on his back were his reward.
Just around that time, he was set up to be a breeder and paired up with some girl; he wasn’t likely to become anyone’s pet because he was simply unmanageable. However, breeding doesn’t seem to suit him much either as he’s produced no children as of yet. So, not wanting to be a breeder for the rest of his life, and not wanting to find out what happened to humans that were no longer useful at the farm, he started plotting a means of escape. In reality, he knows his little plans won’t get too far, but he figures it’s better than sitting around and waiting.
Now, all he has to do is wait for the right moment before the strike.
